Hillview Cottage was originally the railway station servicing the village of upper Steelend. Since the Mining industry ceased, the station closed in the early 1900's. Only four of the houses remain. It is set in rural surroundings with uninterrupted views Southwards towards the River Forth and Northwards of the Foothills and Knock hill (Famous racing circuit).
 
Although semi-isolated, Dunfermline (The ancient capital of Scotland) is only 6 miles away. Fife is renown for its golf courses, walking, beaches and wildlife and all are within easy access of the cottage. Edinburgh 18mls, Stirling 19mls, Perth 27mls, St. Andrews 38mls.
