High Woods Farm sits in 45 acres of privately owned nature reserve on the doorstep of the North Yorkshire Moors. Nearby (1.5 miles) is the beautiful village of Ampleforth.

High Woods Farm is committed to the restoration and enhancement of the existing species-rich sloping meadows, and to re-establish the ancient skill of copicing to regenerate woodland glades which provide a natural source of firewood whilst also populating a carpet of natural wild flowers to once again attract the natural diverse habitats of all living plants, insects and animals.

Situated at the head of Shallowdale Valley with Helmsley close by and Thirsk & York a short drive away, High Woods nestles in a secluded, sheltered valley with panoramic views across the Howardian Hills amidst abundant wildlife, from badger to deer, in an aura of peace and tranquillity.
High Woods Farm boasts 2 quaint holiday cottages where countryside walks and wildlife exploration commence at your own back door!

A delightful detached 3 bedroomed beamed cottage with featured outside stairway from the second bedroom, in its own secluded garden with barbecue and picnic facilities.

Close to the The Burrows and adjoining the main Farmhouse, Mole End is a quaint one storey stone built cottage enjoying superb views from French windows overlooking the south-facing lawned garden - again with Barbecue and picnic facilities.

Oil fired central heating throughout - logs & electricity included.

Duvets and bed linen along with towels are provided throughout.
Washing machine and deep freezer are available in the Farmhouse utility room.
The Burrows now has its own washing machine in the cottage.
There are ample parking facilities and outdoor playing areas offering badminton/volley ball for those more energetically inclined!
The grounds offer scope for pre-breakfast ambles and post-supper strolls to fully absorb the ambience of this unspoilt hideaway.

Just 15 minutes from this rural location are local shops, top class pub/restaurants, English Heritage tourist attractions and diverse sporting facilities.
