Only an hour or so from Inverness, Wester Ross in the Highlands of Scotland is an ideal destination for a self catering holiday. Opinan is a small hamlet situated near the head of the peninsula between Loch Ewe and Gruinard Bay. This peninsular, which culminates at Greenstone Point enjoys magnificent views of both sea and mountains. To the north are the Summer Isles and The Coigach peaks and to the east, across Gruinard Bay, the impressive mountain ranges of An Teallach.
 Heatherside is a large detached bungalow ideal for both couples and families, offering high quality self catering accommodation for up to eight persons. It is situated in a 2-acre garden, just off a quiet road near the head of the peninsula, with spectacular views of mountain and sea (photo on right). If you are looking for peace and quiet, with the option of plenty of activities, you won't find better. Accommodation consists of: - 2 double (one with en-suite) and 2 twin bedrooms.

There are many walks that start from house including a leisurely stroll on the beautiful beach at Mellon Udrigle and a more challenging hike around the headland to Greenstone Point. The beach and bay at Mellon Udrigle (photo on right) are suitable for bathing, sailing, fishing, canoeing and windsurfing, whilst the coastline provides numerous walking and mountaineering opportunities.
This is an ideal base from which to tour this scenic and unspoilt area. Gruinard Bay and Inverewe Gardens are a short drive away and further afield are all the amenities provided in the towns of Gairloch (20miles) and Ullapool (45miles).
