The Hayloft is a luxury holiday cottage near the picturesque village of Cartmel in South Lakeland's stunning Cartmel Peninsula. It is converted from a traditional threshing barn and blends original beams and limestone with contemporary use of natural materials, all beautifully draped in Sanderson and Laura Ashley fabrics. Offering a complete escape or a family base for exploring the Lake District, The Hayloft features a four-poster bed, games room, garden room and a galleried upstairs lounge to capture views of Morecambe Bay.
  • Within a 5-minute drive from The Hayloft is the boundary of the Lake District National Park and within 10-minutes find the foot of Lake Windermere before a short lakeside run into Bowness-on-Windermere and the heart of the Lakes.
  • Good roads lead to varied cultural and shopping opportunities in Kendal, Ulverston and Barrow-in-Furness or take the train on a fascinating coastal trip along the West Coast or to Carlisle, Cumbria's capital.
  • Alternatively, forget the car and discover the unspoilt beauty of the Cartmel Peninsula, following one of many walks from the doorstep.
  • A 20-minute ramble reaches Cartmel and its famous 11th Century Priory, steeplechase racecourse and celebrated Sticky Toffee Pudding Shop.
  • Walk for 2 miles along the Cumbria Coastal Way to Grange-over-Sands and its Ornamental Gardens, tea-rooms and shops or go west to Flookburgh, famous for shrimps and cockles.
  • There is something for everyone from family attractions to bird watching, from golfing to parachuting and importantly, a village pub with open fire within 100-yards.
The Hayloft offers flexible family accommodation:
  • A four-poster bedroom and shower-room (downstairs) with a double and a triple sleeper (full single and a 4ft double), high quality sprung sofa bed and corner bath bathroom (upstairs).
  • The enclosed garden includes a Games Room with full-size table-tennis table and dartboard and a laundry room with washing machine, lots of storage space for kit, and parking.
  • Handcrafted oak kitchen, open plan dining room leading to heated conservatory.
