Hartington is one of the most highly regarded villages in the Peak District, with two excellent coaching inns, fine buildings dating back 900 years, imressive Jacobean Hall, geese pond, renowned cheese shop and numerous facilities such as two grocers, newsagents, two shops, petrol station and garage, gift shops and more. The River Dove is only a few hundred yards away. Wolfscote Dale and Dovedale are a short distance downstream.
There are numerous footpaths and bridle ways in the immediate vicinity, offering unrivalled walking in the best part of the White Peak. There are three cycle trails within 3 miles.
