From there it's a quick and easy drive to Grasmere, Ambleside and Beatrix Potter country. At this very special house you'll feel like you're away from it all. But everything the Lake District has to offer is right on your doorstep.

Accommodation
The perfect combination of old and new, the farmhouse has a fresh contemporary interior, polished oak floors, rugs, comfy sofas, open fires and a farmhouse dining room which seats 11. A big picture window in the spacious sitting room means you can enjoy the view whatever the weather.

Local amenities

The farmhouse is only a mile from a convenience store and two inns - one of which has a health and beauty spa with swimming pool.
There's also a slipway nearby to launch your boat on Windermere!
The little towns of Ulverston (with a Thursday market), Grange-over-Sands and Cartmel are a short drive away with excellent pubs, restaurants and great food shops selling local produce.

All your favourite Lake District attractions are a short drive away - including Beatrix Potter's Hilltop Farm (why not go via the Windermere ferry?), Dove Cottage at Grasmere, and Wordsworth's old grammar school in the picturesque little town of Hawkshead (also just across the Lake on the ferry).
The area offers a wide range of activities to suit everyone - from mountain biking and canoeing to sailing and walking. And there are plenty of great things for children to enjoy, including an animal park at Dalton.

The farmhouse is available from 4pm on day of arrival to 10am the day of departure.
