The riverbank barn conversion (dated 1770) offers luxury self catering, located at the Happy Horse Retirement Home, a stunning 100 acre farm in a secluded valley, set in the heart of the Brecon Beacons.
  • The barn has been thoughtfully converted to a very high standard to provide comfortable accommodation in three separate cottages: Blue Brook, Red Ridge, Green Gallop.
  • Blue Brook has a large glazed dining area with an oak dining table seating 16 and open plan sitting room with comfortable leather sofas, chairs and a chunky hand-made coffee table from local oak; so that everyone can eat and socialize together.
 In all cottages:
  • Oak floors and staircases and welsh slate complement the original beams and stonework, whilst each property benefits from warm terracotta tiles with efficient under floor heating, modern showers and a romantic freestanding bath in Blue Brook.
  • The oak coffee tables & 'Goldilocks' style beds have been handmade.
  • Electric induction hob, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with small freezer, washing machine.
  • All good quality bedlinen and towels are provided.
  • LCD TV with Sky Freeview and DVD.
  • The Crai river runs alongside the back of the cottages and the large outdoor sitting/ BBQ area.
  • There are fabulous views over the green rolling hills and river from the kitchen and bedroom windows.
  • Ample parking.
Location:
  • The area has abundant wildlife including otters, buzzards and red kites nesting nearby.
  • There are numerous walks from the farm - Crai reservoir with Brown Trout fly fishing, glacial lakes, forestry, commons, waterfalls and the Sarn Helen Roman Road popular with mountain bikers.
  • The sandy beaches of the Gower Peninsula are a 45 minute drive.
  • The owners have an extensive knowledge of the local area for those on foot, bicycle or horseback, they also speak Dutch, French and German.
