Two refurbished and renovated semi detached Highland cottages in secluded romantic setting opposite Inveraray and overlooking Loch Fyne. Surrounded by natural woodland (with oak, birch, beech trees and wild orchids).
These cottages were built in the 17th Century and stand on the site of an ancient Highland village celebrated in a famous short story and poem.
Each cottage sleeps 4 and has: Sitting room and open fire. Kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, automatic washing machine, television, DVD. Double bedroom. McHugh Cottage also has a twin bedroom and Loudon Cottage a single bedroom with extra pullout bed. Beds have duvets and linen provided. Bathroom, with wc and shower over bath. Total control electric heating throughout. There is a supply of coal and kindling. Locally: Visit Inveraray (16 miles) Castle, Maritime Exhibition, Old Jail. See Dunard (25 miles) where Scottish kings were enthroned, or Temple Wood where there are prehistoric stone circles. See Maclachlan Castle or visit woodland gardens at Cairndow (5 miles), or younger gardens near Dunoon (17 miles). Take a day trip to Iona, Mull, Bute or Glencoe. Enjoy fishing (the owner has fishing rights on Loch Fyne), diving, tennis, golf, climbing, pony trekking, shooting or just walking in the woodland.
