Hafod is a large stone cottage in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. It is nestled in 30 acres of privately owned woodland in the hills above the village of Maentwrog, two-thirds of a mile from the road along a private track in a highly scenic and secluded position. - Hafod overlooks the Vale of Ffestiniog, one of the most beautiful and best preserved wooded valleys in Britain.
- Excellent walks from the front door along a network of paths and tracks (good for mountain biking too) take you through deciduous woods protected by the National Park, National Trust, Woodland Trust and mixed forestry.
- A swimming lake and a request stop on the Ffestiniog Railway are both within easy walking distance.
- The picturesque village of Maentwrog with two good pubs is two miles away.
- Hafod's location 10 miles from the beaches at Harlech to the south, and 10 miles from Snowdon to the north makes it an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia.
