Dating from 1608, Hacket Forge stands on the banks of the River Brathay, in the beautiful Little Langdale valley and is set an easy walk between the village of Little Langdale and the stunning waterfalls at Colwith Force. The property is steeped in history being originally a forge, and the Wordsworths were familiar with it, as was Beatrix Potter who bought land on the other side of the river. The house has over an acre of gardens and woodland with lovely picnic spots and several hundred metres of river frontage. From the upstream end of the garden, guests can access a public footpath which leads out onto the fells or down to the waterfalls.
Accommodation Brathay Loft is the end portion of Hacket Forge's first floor, providing private, self-contained accommodation of character accessed via several stone steps and its own front door.
