Dating from 1608, Hacket Forge stands on the banks of the River Brathay, in the beautiful Little Langdale valley and is set an easy walk between the village of Little Langdale and the stunning waterfalls at Colwith Force. The property is steeped in history being originally a forge, and the Wordsworths were familiar with it, as was Beatrix Potter who bought land on the other side of the river. The house has over an acre of gardens and woodland with lovely picnic spots and several hundred metres of river frontage. From the upstream end of the garden, guests can access a public footpath which leads out onto the fells or down to the waterfalls. Accommodation Brathay Loft is the end portion of Hacket Forge's first floor, providing private, self-contained accommodation of character accessed via several stone steps and its own front door.
The Loft comprises a spacious open-plan lounge /kitchen diner with beamed ceiling, wood burner and TV/DVD player, and a cosy bedroom with beautiful brass double bedstead and high quality mattress which overlooks the river.
There is a separate shower room with WC and central heating throughout.
The brand new fully fitted kitchen is equipped with oven and hob, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
All linen is included.
The stone steps from the Loft lead down to the garden path along the river bank.
Visitors also have their own small lawned garden, with seating.
