This must be many people's idea of a dream location - a traditional characterful cottage has been carefully and sympathetically restored, and offers the perfect retreat. Situated on the Rivals, Gwag-y-noe occupies a secluded sheltered mountain setting at some 900ft, overlooking the magnificent landscape of Snowdonia, the peaks of Mid-Wales and coastline of Cardigan Bay. The surrounding garden is bordered by stone and field walls, beyond which there is a clear water pool - and sheep grazing on the mountain.
There is excellent walking, bird-watching in the immediate area (including walks to the internationally important Celtic fortifications above the cottage to the east).
Easy access to the sandy beaches and rocky inlets of the Lleyn Peninsula, the towns Pwllheli and Porthmadog and to the abundant sights and activities, which are all within easy driving distance.
Nearest Train: Pwllheli 5 miles, Bangor 20 miles (3.5 hrs. London, Virgin trains). Nearest Bus: 1 mile. Nearest Provisions shop/bakery, post office, public telephone, and public houses in two villages just over a mile away.
