 If you're looking for a comfortable holiday cottage with inspiring Lakeland views and walking or cycling from the door, Lower Grisedale Lodge could be what you're looking for. Set in its own grounds, close to the southern shores of Ullswater, Lower Grisedale Lodge has superb access to Helvellyn, the High Street range, Fairfield and St Sunday Crag and lovely valley and woodland walks.
This comfortable holiday cottage is ideal for a romantic break, a family holiday, an opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet or an energetic walking or sailing holiday.
Accommodation
Lower Grisedale Lodge forms the ground floor of a large traditional Lakeland house which dates back to Victorian times. The cottage sleeps up to 5 people in comfort and is designed around a large hall which has its own settee and quiet corners where you can escape everyone else (if you need to!). The cottage has: - New fitted kitchen with breakfast table and plenty of storage space as well as an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
 - Comfortable and spacious lounge and dining room with traditional coal fire and storage heater. There is a colour TV with Sky freeview and DVD player, a mini hi-fi system, plenty of books and info about the Lake District and a range of games - for children young and old!
- A lovely light and airy conservatory which leads into the garden where you can enjoy the peace and quiet - or the kids can play on the swings and run around and let off steam.
- There are 3 spacious bedrooms which all have heating: a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a single room.
- The bathroom has a bath, separate shower, toilet and wash basin.
- Private parking space within the car port and additional parking by arrangement.
- Bed linen is provided and there are no additional charges for fuel and electricity.
The Magic of the Ullswater Valley - Ullswater is second largest lake in the Lake District National Park - and we think it's the most beautiful! It boasts a magical combination of dramatic scenery and hidden corners. Come and experience it for yourself. You will be inspired!
- From the cottage door you have easy access to Helvellyn, St Sunday Crag and Fairfield and the High Street range. There are also numerous valley and woodland walks. The lakeshore walk from Howtown was described by Wainwright as one of the finest in the Lake District - and the views are breathtaking.
- Ullswater offers ample opportunity for messing about on the lake. Ullswater Steamers sail to Howtown and Pooley Bridge every day (unless it's very windy!); you can hire a motor boat or rowing boat from Glenridding Boating Centre; or you can have a go at sailing, canoeing or kayaking from Glenridding Sailing Centre where expert tuition is available.
Local Services
The villages of Glenridding and Patterdale are within walking distance of Lower Grisedale Lodge and cater well for visitors to the area. There is a good choice of pubs, cafes, village shops, a post office, garage, medical centre, internet cafes, children's playground and a National Park Information Centre.
