The ancient borough of Lyme has much to offer including: History, old buildings, award-winning museum, listed Art Deco cinema showing recent releases. Good pubs, restaurants and cafes - no need to cook! World famous fossil collecting area; organised fossil walks or explore yourself. Our Jurassic coastline now has UNESCO World Heritage Site status Thriving artistic quarter with arts and jazz festivals. The ancient Cobb harbour - as used by John Fowles in 'French Lieutenant's Woman', and Jane Austen in 'Persuasion'. Many individual small shops - great for finding unusual gifts and clothing.
