Welcome to Greenwell Cottage, Burray, Orkney Isles KW17 2SX

Greenwell Cottage is a renovated croft house, built on one level and can sleep up to 6 people (1 double bedroom & 1 very large bedroom with 4 single beds). The cottage is adjoined to  Greenwell croft which is lived in by the owners. Both premises are peacefully secluded in 50 acres of arable farmland with panoramic views over Scapa Flow. Below the cottage and a short distance away (100ft/30m) is a rocky beach with its own private pier which visitors are very welcome to use. In the owners walled garden are very friendly chickens (fresh eggs!) and ducks. In the surrounding fields there are usually sheep and a small very friendly herd/fold of young Highland Cows who love eating carrots!

If you are looking for relaxation, peace and quiet or just to get away from the hustle and bustle of life then this is the ideal stay for you. We are sorry but the cottage does not have it's own WIFI, but in an emergency you may be able to use ours.

In the past we have had artists, fishermen and people active in water-sports such as canoeing. It is also a delight for birdwatchers.

You may even get a glimpse of the Orkney Sailmaker repairing or making tarpaulins.

We look forward to welcoming you to Greenwell Cottage and hope that you enjoy your stay in Orkney.
