 The Stables benefits from a rural location on the outskirts of a small village in the scenic Scottish Borders. We are located between Lauder (8 miles) and Duns (10 miles), where shops and banks are available, and 35 miles from Edinburgh. The many historic Borders towns and castles are within easy reach by car and golf, horse riding, shooting, fishing and walking, including the Southern Upland Way, are all available locally. We are approximately 35 miles from the rugged but beautiful Berwickshire coastline where world class scuba diving can be enjoyed in the St Abbs and Eyemouth marine reserve.
Accommodation Converted stone built stables attached to the main house form a self-contained unit; situated 100 m from the road with large parking area. The accommodation is centrally heated and furnished to a high standard. It is at ground level and consists of sitting room, kitchen with dining area, a twin/double bedroom with en-suite shower and toilet, and a double bedroom with en-suite wet floor shower and toilet. The large comfortable living room has a colour TV and VCR and CD/radio. The fitted kitchen/diner is well supplied with crockery and kitchen utensils. Integral electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave. Linen, towels and hairdryers are provided. Guests are welcome to bring up to two well behaved dogs; these must be kept on leads when there are sheep in the fields and should not be left alone in the property. Dog owners should be aware that we have our own lively but friendly dogs. An enclosed garden is provided but you are welcome to make use of the seventeen acres of grounds where we keep horses, hens, ducks and sheep. We are five minutes walk from the village that includes a pub/restaurant and a riding centre that provides equestrian activities for all levels of experience.
