We invite you to enjoy our family home, which we have cherished for many years. Grealin is a traditional stone-built crofter's cottage with many original features, which has been sensitively upgraded to a very high standard of convenience and comfort. There is one double bedroom, one twin, one single. (also convertible sofa.). Facilities include two bathrooms, (one ensuite); payphone; Freesat TV, DVD,VCR. Washing machine. Tumble dryer. Microwave. Enclosed garden. Beaches nearby. Children welcome. Location - Grealin is situated in a very rural but accessible spot on the Trotternish Peninsula, one of the most impressive and picturesque parts of Skye.
 - The cottage's position is totally unspoilt, on the edge of the moors, with complete peace and privacy.
- It stands in its own enclosed mature child-friendly garden, with trees to the rear, and is located in an elevated position about one mile from and overlooking the sea. View from garden is shown in photo on right.
- There are very long views of the moors, sea, islands and mountains of the mainland, outstanding even by Skye standards.
- Inland, behind the house, there is moorland, before reaching the precipitous Trotternish Ridge.
Things to see and do - There are many excellent trips (on foot, or by car) to be made in the area, including many direct from the house. Our own pamphlets make suggestions for walks, both in the hills (the Trotternish Ridge is one of the classic British hill walks), or along the coast, with its magnificent cliffs.
- Very easy access to such well-known beauty spots as the Quirang and the Old Man of Storr.
- A wonderful area for birdwatchers, with a chance of golden and white-tailed eagles.
- Fishing is available in local lochs and rivers.
- Glenview Hotel (evening meals, closed in winter), 3/4 mile.
- Staffin (4m) has basic shopping and petrol, boat trips and a sandy beach.
- Portree is easily accessible with its full range of facilities.
