Standing attractively beside the River Gowan on the edge of the small but thriving village of Staveley, Gowan is a wonderfully peaceful retreat for anyone who loves the Lake District and is a superb base from which to explore the Lakes, Howgill Fells and Yorkshire Dales. Staveley lies at the gateway to the beautiful Kentmere valley and is served by a number of small shops and two excellent pubs. It is also home to the famous Wilf's Cafe and Hawkshead Brewery. Gowan is fully centrally heated and double glazed and offers all the amenities one would expect; including television/DVD player, fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker, automatic washing machine and dishwasher. A selection of DVDs, CDs, travel books, maps and games is available for guests' use.
The sunny, spacious lounge/dining room runs the full length of the house and has views of the surrounding hills.
Patio doors open out onto the south-facing, riverside terrace and a picnic table and chairs are provided.
In addition, there is a small, enclosed rear garden also furnished with a table and chairs.
The house has a car parking space and there is secure storage for bicycles in the garage.
There are two double bedrooms (one with twin beds) and a single.
Duvets and pillows are provided but guests must provide their own duvet covers, undersheets, pillow cases and towels.
The bathroom has both a bath and a shower.
The kitchen has been newly refurbished and there is a downstairs toilet.
