Standing attractively beside the River Gowan on the edge of the small but thriving village of Staveley, Gowan is a wonderfully peaceful retreat for anyone who loves the Lake District and is a superb base from which to explore the Lakes, Howgill Fells and Yorkshire Dales. Staveley lies at the gateway to the beautiful Kentmere valley and is served by a number of small shops. It is also home to the famous Wilf's Cafe. The market town of Kendal is only 10 minutes drive away.
Accommodation Gowan is fully centrally heated and double glazed and offers all the amenities one would expect; including television/DVD player, fridge, freezer, microwave, cooker, automatic washing machine and dishwasher. The sunny, spacious lounge/dining room runs the full length of the house and has views of the surrounding hills. French windows open out onto the south-facing, riverside patio and a picnic table and chairs are provided. In addition, there is a small enclosed rear garden. The house has a car parking space and there is secure storage for bicycles. There are two double bedrooms and a single. Duvets and pillows are provided but guests must provide their own duvet covers, undersheets, pillow cases and towels. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower. Whether your interest is fellwalking, bird watching, running, cycling or just sitting and drinking it all in we are sure you will enjoy your stay in this beautiful setting.
