The Glynhir Estate is set in the beautiful rural Carmarthenshire countryside, in the foothills of the Black Mountain. Glynhir offers its visitors the tranquillity that would be expected from the 18th. Century Huguenot estate with its elegant Mansion House, woodlands, walled gardens, parkland and spectacular 30' waterfall. Two miles from the village of Llandybie, Glynhir lies between Ammanford and Llandeilo, four miles from the end of the M4. Grouped around the farmyard, with its peacocks, ducks, geese and chickens, are the stables, barns and estate cottages that have now been converted into self-catering accommodation. Although the estate is no longer a working farm we keep pot bellied pigs, chickens, peacocks, geese and ducks. Close by, sheep and horses graze happily in our fields. Each of our cottages have been sympathetically restored and all retain their original oak beams and log fires. All six cottages have three bedrooms and are equipped to a high standard, retaining their own individual character. The Old Brew House (featured in the photograph) Sleeps 7. 3 bedrooms. Bathroom and toilet. Well equipped kitchen, dining room. Lounge with wood burning stove, stone walls and exposed beams has views through the arched windows onto the old farm yard with its many stone buildings. Downstairs toilet. Full central heating.
The Courtyard Cottage. Sleeps 6. 3 bedrooms, bathroom and toilet. Spacious kitchen / dining area. Cosy lounge with wood burning stove - exposed beams and stone walls. Full central heating.
The Paddock. Sleeps 7. 3 bedrooms. Up stairs to a large open plan living space. Fully equipped kitchen, lounge / dining area with wood burning stove. Bathroom and toilet. Full central heating. Views over the estate to the distant hills. No pets.
The Stable. Sleeps 6. 3 bedrooms. Up stairs to a large open plan living space with views over the paddock and farmyard with its ducks and duck pond. Well equipped kitchen, lounge / dining area with open fire. Bathroom and toilet. Full central heating. No pets.
The Orchard Cottage. Sleeps 5. 3 bedrooms. Cosy lounge with wood burning stove. Well equipped kitchen / dining area. Downstairs bathroom and toilet. Downstairs single bedroom (through bathroom). Access to the cottage is via the walled garden and orchard. Full central heating.
The Bailiff's House. Sleeps 8. 3 bedrooms one of which has an en-suite bathroom and toilet. Bathroom and toilet. Large lounge with part stone flag floor and wood burning stove and exposed beams. Well equipped kitchen / dining area. Downstairs toilet. Full central heating.
Locally there is much to see and do - golfing (reduced rate green fees for guests of the Estate), fishing and horse riding are all within a few minutes of the estate. We are ideally situated for visiting the National Botanic Gardens of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, the castles of Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen and the Roman Gold Mines at Pumpsaint.
