is situated on the west side of the Isle of Lewis, on a working croft in the village of Tolsta Chaolais - arguably the most scenic village on the island. This village is ideal for wildlife lovers, as it boasts swans, wildfowl and waders on the freshwater loch, and a wealth of seabirds on the coast, and your chances of seeing the elusive otter are high. At the end of the croft we have a secluded beach, overlooking the Isle of Great Bernera. From the house, we pride ourselves in having great views over Tolsta Chaolais, as well as the hills of Harris and Uig. We have a number of fabulous beaches nearby, including Dalmore and Dalbeg, approx 6 miles away.

There is very little traffic passing through, and there are a number of children here who would be more than willing to make friends and play with yours, to give you a break! During the months of April and May, your children may enjoy the arrival of new lambs on the croft.

The Doune Brae's Hotel is within walking distance of Glencairn, and the nearest shop is five miles away, in Callanish.
