Nestled in the pretty and tranquil ancient village of Sherrington, astride wildlife-filled ponds and springs, the 4 Star rated Gingerbread Cottage provides the perfect escape from modern life. It is a detached and thatched cottage, reminiscent of the fairy tale cottage from which it is named, but inside it has been completely renovated and modernised for a comfortable stay.

Accommodation
  • Fully central heated, downstairs there is a well equipped kitchenette, shower/toilet room, and sitting/dining area - all tastefully decorated and furnished.
  • Washing machine, tumble drier, and deep freeze cabinet provided in garage next door.
  • Upstairs, an oak staircase leads up to a cosy twin-bedded room (linen and towels provided), with a rocking chair.
  • Satellite TV, DVD, and stereo system.
  • Ideal for a couple, there is also a folding bed for a third adult or child which can be placed either upstairs or downstairs.
  • A cot, baby bath and high chair are provided for an infant under one year.
  • We do not allow any child between 1 - 8 years because of surrounding ponds.

Outside

  • Gingerbread Cottage has its own garden space and secure parking set aside for guests, and is adjacent to Sheepfold Cottage, itself a thatched cottage dating from 1724, where the owners live.

Location

  • Overlooking attractive countryside and chalk downlands beyond, Sherrington is a designated Conservation village of only 27 dwellings within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
  • This is an ideal touring base for Stonehenge and Avebury, Salisbury, Wilton House, Longleat Safari Park, Stourhead Gardens, Bath, the New Forest and the South Coast.
  • There are some wonderful walks close by with far reaching views, and several local pubs serving good food.

We feel sure that you will have a peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable stay here - but don't take our word for it - just look at our guests' comments in the visitor's book! For more details please access our website (click website button).
