 Situated in the heart of Freshwater Bay, Gate House not only overlooks the beach but is also at the foot of Tennyson Down and backs onto Afton Marsh. The golf course is just the other side of the bay. - There is a grocer's up the road and a pub and restaurant within walking distance.
- Freshwater village, a mile away, offers further amenities.
- It's a short drive to a number of sandy beaches, including Compton (excellent for surfing).
Accommodation
Originally part of a Victorian hotel, Gate House has recently been renovated and enjoys a number of period features with a relaxed and artistic finish throughout. It offers the perfect location for a self-catering holiday in comfort and style. It sleeps 11 with the option for a further 4 guests in two sofabeds. - Stable door leads directly from the deck into the large and airy kitchen/dining area. There are wooden floors and rugs throughout with carpet on the staircases.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with a Smeg range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, drier, large fridge and separate freezer. Large dining table. Toploader washing machine.
 - Comfortable sitting room with bay window. Two easy chairs, very large sofa, and chesterfield sofa. Woodburing stove.
- Flatscreen TV, DVD player, CD player, piano and selection of games and books.
- Dowstairs loo and shower room.
- First floor houses 3 large bedrooms with high ceilings and windows, two with fireplaces: 2 twin (1 with additional double sofabed, plus en suite bathroom) and 1 double bedroom with en suite bathroom, additional double sofabed and bay window overlooking the garden and sea.
- Top floor, full of charm and sloping ceilings, houses 3 further bedrooms: 1 double (with velux window overlooking marsh), 1 twin and 1 single (both with sash windows). Bathroom (original roll top bath).
- The enclosed garden has a large decked area with seating and BBQ, raised beds, Derek Jarman style planting and herb garden. There is also a wendy house.
- Gas central heating, electricity and broadband service are provided free of charge.
- There are two parking spaces in the shingle drive outside the house.
