Gateham Grange, nr The Manifold Valley and Dovedale - For the perfect Farm Holiday in the heart of the Peak District.

Photo: One frosty morning at Gateham Grange. As you can see the Peak District is beautiful at any time of the year. Stay in Gateham Cottage - your very own wing of our old limestone farmhouse.

Robert, Teresa and Sam invite you to experience life on a real working farm and share this tranquil part of the Peak District where you can take a holiday in our comfortable cottages and/or camping barn. We run a mixed farm with 300 sheep lambing from March to early May. Families return year after year to watch the lambing. (so book early to avoid disappointment). Children are most welcome to help feed sheep and bottle feed lambs under adult supervision. Shortly after lambing our suckler herd begin to calve and guests can see young calves running around the fields and if lucky may see a calf being born. We have a friendly sheepdog, four cats and free range hens. Children can collect eggs. Just come to see us at the Farmhouse and we will gladly show you around the farm.

Framed by ancient copper beeches our farmstead nestles at the foot of Wetton Hill surrounded by miles of rolling countryside. With dale walks from the door and major visitor attractions from stately homes (Chatsworth) to theme parks (Alton Towers) all within easy reach, Gateham Grange is truly a unique holiday retreat. Spend peaceful days photographing, or painting views of our beautiful countryside and our farm is a haven for birdwatchers (with binoculars and bird books provided).

Located at the farmstead the cottages can be booked separately (perfect for both couples and families) or together to accommodate friends, larger families and groups of up to 12 people making them an ideal venue for family gatherings and special occasions. Our basic camping barn also sleeps up to 12 and can be booked along with the cottages if extra room is required.
