Lovely comfortable cottage in a super location.  Weather has been very kind.  Lots to see and do - lovely coastal villages and interesting historic houses and castles nearby.  Will be back.  A-M & J, September 2014

We have really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful cottage.  The weather has been lovely and found some new places to visit.  For garden lovers Howick Gardens are a real treat.  Coldingham beach is very pretty.  Louise thank you for the welcome pack - it was much appreciated.  Hope to be back in the near future.  Best wishes C & M, Derbyshire, August/September 2014

Louise and Harris - another brilliant stay.  Thanks for everything you do to make our holidays so fantastic.  Been to all the usual haunts and a few new ones.  It was good to have J and H with us, especially as H hadn't been before so making the holiday a great family affair...Cross Inn at Paxton is a must for Sunday lunch, voted excellent by all!  Cannot wait to return.  Big thanks K, R, J & H, Yorkshire, August 2014

Amazed at how quiet it is here!  Lovely and peaceful cottage.  Weather not great to start the week but improved towards the end which was nice.  Visited some lovely places and can recommend The Cross Inn in Paxton - very good food and family friendly.  Great day at Paxton House and we absolutely loved Etal and their tea room there.  Cookie, our dog, loved the gardens here and we were visited once or twice by the pheasants which was nice to see.  Thank you Louise and Harris for the great welcome pack.  It was much appreciated especially our favourite shortbread!  Love Harris' artwork by the way.  C, A, M and Cookie the dog, Sunderland, August 2014

Lovely welcome pack - many thanks!  Weather has been very good - not too hot for the dogs.  Reuben and Hugo have loved the garden here - very private and with lovely views.  Berwick has some lovely views, walking the town walls.  Drove up to Edinburgh - parking was easy at Holyrood car park.  Visited Lindisfarne and Bamburgh (stunning beach and castle).  Eyemouth and St Abbs fishing harbours are interesting.  Low Newton Beach (1 hour drive) is gorgeous.  Parking cheap and almost on the beach.  Thank you for a lovely stay Louise and Harris.  J, S & I, Sandwich Kent and St Austell, July 2014

Thanks Louise and Harris.  Another lovely stay at Gable End.  Weather fantastic, great days out and endless beach walks!  Best wishes W & S, Kent, June 2014

Beautiful cottage, beautiful area.  Weather sunny and warm all week...Our dog loved the garden.  We had a very restful and relaxing week.  We really, really enjoyed ourselves and we will be back.  Best wishes and thank you.  L & R, Greater Manchester, June 2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  What can we say?  Our week's stay in your cottage has been utter perfection!  We have been so fortunate with the weather and having our meals outside looking at the breath taking view has been such a treat!  We have loved exploring Northumberland and the Scottish Borders - it has been something we will never forget.  Believe us when we say we will be back (hopefully for our honeymoon, fingers crossed).  With best wishes and much gratitude, R & S, Lymm, Cheshire, May/June2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  Would just like to say thank you for our overnight stay at Gable End Cottage.  Everything was perfect!  Very tranquil, beautiful setting and very well equipped.  We will be back again in the future.  L & D. May 2014

Dear Louise and Harris.  Really, really enjoyed our stay as we have done every time we stayed.  Thanks also for being able to accommodate K's sister and her husband for a couple of nights at such short notice - it was very much appreciated by all.  It has been a fabulous week in Gable End - so very peaceful and comfortable combined with mostly decent weather.  Whilst here in the garden have seen buzzards, hares boxing, loads of other wildlife including hearing (but not seeing!) a woodpecker close by.  We are always sad to leave but it is nice to know we will be back in August.  It was nice to catch up again, so take care and see you soon.  K & R, Maltby, April 2014

What a relaxing week!  I've really enjoyed my week at Gable End - it really is a wonderfully peaceful and calm location.  There is nothing to want more in the cottage - everything is of excellent quality.  I'll definitely be back!  S, West Lothian, April 2014

Many thanks for another super stay.  We have enjoyed a very restful and relaxing week here with lovely walks at Paxton House and Berwick.  We are already looking forward to returning later in the year.  Thanks again.  J, B & M, Fife, December/January 2014

Thank you Louise for the last minute holiday.  Loved being in Gable End Cottage - comfy and cosy.  Been very lucky with the weather.  Done lots of walking.  Went and sat at the side of the River Tweed (the Junction Pool - only fishermen would understand!) at Kelso.  Heaven.  Well worth a visit to Roslyn Chapel near Edinburgh.  Thank you again Louise and Harris.  Had a brilliant holiday.  Hope to see you again.  M & G. Castleford, September 2013

A lovely relaxing week in this beautiful part of the world.  Cottage peaceful and very comfortable - welcome pack much appreciated after the long journey!  Stunning views over the countryside.  Everyone very friendly and helpful.  Paxton House visit very interesting and we saw them netting salmon.  Managed a trip to Edinburgh to the Festival.  Berwick is an interesting place - wandered the castle walls and the Lowry trail.  St Abbs and the coast favourites.  Thanks A & R, Bristol, August 2013

What a nice and peaceful week in your lovely cottage.  Great weather, so much to see and to do in this area...and always nice to return after a grand day out - home.  Thank you so much Louise and Harris for the warm welcome.  B & M, Duisburg, Germany, August 2013

We've had an amazing time this week.  Even the weather has behaved!  It is so peaceful here that relaxing is made easy.   The cottage is so beautiful .  I'm sure we will return for another visit.  P & K, Lancs, August 2013

Thank you Louise and Harris for another marvellous stay in your lovely cottage.  We feel so relaxed and chilled out after recharging our batteries and believe me they needed recharging!  Wishing you the very best and hope to see you again very soon.  R & K, Maltby, July/August 2013

A long drive but worth it.  Lovely cottage with everything and great views of the local countryside (very lucky with weather!).  Dogs in seventh heaven, love the beaches!  Loads of wildlife to be seen, dipper, grey wagtail, l.s woodpecker, sand martins (and tree sparrows in the garden!), seals, hare etc.  Go and have a poke around 'Concorde' at East Fortune (National Museum of Flight)!  Totally restful apart from having my hat knocked off by an RAF Tornado!  Try a rare roast beef sandwich at Ednam House by the Tweed in Kelso.  Thanks to Louise and Harris.  Until next time.  S & W plus F & I (the westies!) Sandwich, Kent, June 2013

Thank you Louise and Harris for such a warm welcome.  We had a lovely week in your comfy cottage and great weather, feel relaxed and ready for anything.  See you soon.  K, R, G & R, W. Yorks, June 2013

Glorious start to the week, sitting out in warm sunshine, enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.  Weather deteriorated, but not our enjoyment of the place and its surroundings.  Wonderful places to explore in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, and a very comfortable place to return to in the evenings.  A pleasure!  S & C, Edinburgh, May 2013

Another good week (apart from the weather!!).  Cottage was just right, even new television!!  Food in local pub spot on...Lots of other villages worth visiting - all local food and people really helpful.  Bye for now - see you soon and thanks.  S, B, J & S, Wirral, May 2013

It was lovely to spend a fortnight here in such peaceful and creative surroundings.  Lindisfarne is not a place you want to miss and Paxton House nearby proved to be interesting.  If you are looking for an evening's entertainment the Maltings in Berwick has quite a spectrum of things on.  Thank you Louise and Harris for making our stay comfortable - we hope to be back.  M & M, West Sussex, March/April 2013

What a beautiful, peaceful cottage - a true respite from city-living.  We loved the contemporary light decor and the artwork.  Waking up to just the sound of birdsong, and just seeing views of open farmland from both sets of windows was a sheer delight.  Having been looking for such a holiday cottage ourselves for 8 years now - it was worth the wait to find Gable End.  Thank you T & J, Newcastle, February 2013

Thank you for a lovely holiday in your beautiful, cosy cottage.  Brilliant location, love the peace and quiet with Berwick just up the road for everything you need.  Best day out was Paxton House just up the road - brilliant interesting tour.  Had days out every day but was lovely coming back to the cottage every time for a relaxing night.  Thanks Louise for the candles (there was a power cut) - fortunately we didn't need them!  Already planning next year's visit.  Thanks again, L & I, Cleveland, September 2012

Louise, once again a lovely stay in your lovely cottage with some welcome goodies on our arrival.  The weather has been great...We made it to Edinburgh - we didn't get to the Castle but we went on the Royal Yacht "Britannia".  We highly recommend it.  Floors Castle also worth a visit.  Still more to see.  We will be back.  Thanks for everything.  C & M, Derbyshire, September 2012

Excellent...wanted for nothing.  Been just about everywhere.  For food try Yummleys at Reston and Meringues at Jedburgh...Holidays over too soon.  Louise and Harris thanks for everything - really appreciate it.  See you soon.  K, R & J, Maltby & Leeds, August 2012

Lovely cottage, well appointed and peaceful - thank you for the welcome and provisions.  Found The Cross at Paxton to be the place we returned to for food and service (also close).  Lindisfarne was great - went twice (you need £4.40 for car park in change for more than 3 hours).  Bamburgh beach was wonderful and well worth the visit.  Alnwick Music Festival and the secondhand bookshop were spectacular.  The bookshop is worth half a day and has excellent coffee!  G & A, Warwickshire, August 2012

Your cottage is beautiful, well laid out and user friendly.  Area fantastic for beaches and towns.  Parking good here and most areas.  Benji (our dog) thoroughly enjoyed himself at Bamburgh and made this his second home...Best instructions for driving and finding cottage we have ever had...Thanks and look forward to seeing you in the future.  A, A & B, South Shields, July/August 2012

Thank you for a lovely stay in your beautiful cottage.  Had a lovely time exploring the area.  Lots to see and do -can recommend Floors Castle at Kelso and the Kimmerston Riding School at Wooler.  Also walking on the Ramparts at Berwick is nice of an evening.  Thanks for everything.  M & J, Barnsley, July 2012

Had a lovely stay on our honeymoon...enjoyed the peace and tranquility.  Thankyou Louise for such a lovely welcoming cottage.  L & T, Derbyshire, July 2012

The cottage is very comfortable and homely.  We can't believe how quickly our stay has gone.  We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay - lots of rest and relaxation but so much to see and do in the area.  The dogs have loved the walks and exploring the grounds at Paxton House.  Many thanks for the welcome pack.  What a lovely surprise!  We hope to be back again soon.  E, J, P and R, Fife, June/July 2012

This is a beautiful area to explore whether you want to walk in the hills or the miles of stunning coastline.  Barney (Golden Retriever/collie/et al) can highly recommend Bamburgh Beach!  The cottage is a delight to stay in, picnic table perfect for vino at sunset!  Hopefully be back in September.  CH & Barney, Inverness, June 2012

Brilliant cottage, brilliant area!  Thanks for the week in your cottage, it has been lovely.  Been to some lovely places - Bamburgh beach and Scots View to name just two.  Hopefully be back very soon and thanks again Louise and Harris.  K & R, Maltby, April 2012
