This charming stone cottage has two bedrooms and sleeps four. It is on a tranquil, private lane in the small farming hamlet of Alton, in the award-winning parish of Ashover and on the edge of the scenic Peak District National Park. There are fantastic views over the valley towards Hardwick Hall (National Trust) and Bolsover Castle (English Heritage).

Foxglove Cottage combines the comforts of modern living with the charm and character of a country cottage. It has been furnished and equipped to a high standard whilst retaining many original features. There is an open log fire for cosy winter evenings. The cottage also has its own private garden with barbecue and furniture for those lazy summer days.

Accommodation and Facilities:

Sitting room with fireplace and open fire. Colour TV, DVD recorder/player, HiFi.
Dining kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, and refrigerator.
Freezer and tumble dryer in the cellar, accessed from the kitchen.
Two upstairs bedrooms - one double room and one twin-bedded room.

The Surrounding Area:
Foxglove Cottage is the ideal base for exploring all this area has to offer and visitors often comment on how centrally located it is for reaching the many attractions of Derbyshire and the Peak District. There is excellent walking from the doorstep with horse-riding in the village. The 'Crooked Spire' town of Chesterfield and the resort of Matlock Bath are both within a few miles. Chatsworth House, Hardwick Hall and the 'White Peak' dales around Bakewell are all an easy drive away. There are several excellent pubs which serve food in the vicinity - at least half a dozen of them just over a mile away in the neighbouring villages of Ashover, Milltown and Woolley Moor.

There are no hidden extras in the price. What you pay covers all bedding (duvets), towels, central heating, electricity and WiFi. An initial supply of coal and logs for the open fire will be provided free of charge.
Foxglove Cottage is open throughout the year.
If you book a four-night short break from Monday to Friday you get four nights for the same price as a three-night weekend break.
