Winter is now upon us and the days are shorter. Now Christmas is behind us it is time to be thinking of a short break. Come and enjoy our lovely Chichester city where you can browse the shops and enjoy a coffee, hot chocolate or even lunch when you feel like a break from the myriad of individual shops there are. Something to suit everyone.

This historic cathedral city with its cobbled streets, artisan shops and lovely surrounding countryside and also not far from the beach and the South Downs if  you fancy a bracing walk.

For quiet time there is the Bishops Palace Gardens where you can find peace from the hustle and bustle of the city and Priory Park with its peaceful bowling green, cafe and children's activities for a stroll. There are lovely side streets to discover too and many cafes and restaurants for all tastes. The Novium Museum is also a great place to visit, outlining the Roman history of the district. It is a city with a hustle and bustle of a city twice its size.

The winter season is well under way at the theatre too with The Dresser by the renowned Ronald Harwood and  Running Wild by the author Michael Morpurgo so why not treat yourselves.

Not too far away there is shopping at Gun Wharf Keys in Portsmouth with its many shops and outlets  or Portsmouth Docklands with the spectacular new Mary Rose Museum - not to be missed!! Lots of good restaurants to choose from too.

We are enjoying welcoming our guests to our pretty cottage this season.

The cottage is in a lovely area, very quiet with relaxing views overlooking the garden. Cosy for a quiet night in with a DVD  or enjoying a glass of wine after a shopping trip or some sightseeing.

There is so much to enjoy in this area with the sea, the South Downs and our lovely city.
