The traditional 17th C. Ferryman's Cottage lies at the end of a rocky peninsula between the sea, Loch Crinan and the estuary of the river Add. There are beautiful sandy beaches on both sides of the cottage, ideal for morning walks or wistful evening strolls, for beach combing or sandcastles and for bird watching. The beach on the western side commands one of those fine views for which Western Scotland is renowned. Magnificent red-gold sunsets often cast unbelievable halos around the clouds which haunt the hills of Jura, Scarba and Mull. Oyster catchers, herons and even ospreys come to feed here. If you are lucky and quiet you may well catch sight of an otter.

Short trips by car or day-long expeditions to visit the many beautiful and fascinating sites of Argyll. Admire the ancient standing stones, cup and ring marks of the Kilmartin Glen (and museum of ancient culture). Observe the busy boat life of Crinan Canal basin with a walk along the tow path. Take one of many ferries and choose a Western Isle to explore. There are  gardens, (particularly spectacular in May and June), forest walks, hill walks and cycle trails to choose from.

The cottage has original features and we have endeavoured to provide the interior with comfortable furniture and decor to complement the rural setting. A high standard of modern conveniences are provided.
