Appletreewick is a picturesque village in Wharfedale. It is situated between village of Grassington and the bustling market town of Skipton. Appletreewick village boasts 2 award winning traditional pubs, both of which serve food and traditional ales. There is an abundance of excellent walking and cycling from the door and easy access to the river Wharfe, which in summer makes for fantastic 'beach' style paddling and picnic area. The many scenic walks from the door include the Dales Way following the banks of the River Wharfe as well as Simon's Seat, the valley of desolation, Troller's Gill and Strid Wood at Bolton Abbey.  
Fellside The cottage isstone built and set well back from the road with large gardens to front and rear. It has an elevated position and a small south facing conservatory with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. With little to disturb the peace and quiet, Fellside makes an ideal base for a relaxing Dales holiday.

Locally: - 2 traditional award winning pubs in the village serving food. One pub has a CAMRA award for its speciality beers, the other Craven Arms is a 16th Century inn, with stone flagged floors, real log fires and oak beams. It was a finalist in the 2007 Yorkshire Pub of the Year.

- Two World Heritage sites which are worthy of a visit - the National Trust property of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Gardens and the industrial village of Saltaire with Salts Mill and the David Hockney art gallery.
- Other local attractions include Stump Cross Caverns - a set of beautiful show caves, Parcevall Hall Gardens. with many unusual plants and shrubs collected from as far afield as China and Bolton Abbey which forms part of the Duke of Devonshire's estate.
- Visits slightly further a field include York, Harrogate, Nidderdale, Malham Cove.
