 Experience a unique island retreat on Eilean Bàn (White Island). Located between the mainland and Skye, the island is a magical spot, steeped in history. An ideal base for exploring the area. - Stay in the original Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage, once home to author Gavin Maxwell (Ring of Bright Water).
- Wonder at spectacular scenery of mountain and sea.
- Watch endless sunsets in summer, and gaze to snowy peaks of Kintail and the Skye Cuillin on frosty winter days.
- Enjoy access to the award winning wildlife hide and, (when a warden is available) to the Stevenson Lighthouse and Gavin Maxwell Long Room.
- Watch colourful fishing boats as they pass the island on their way to the sea.
Eilean Bàn is a wildlife haven, renowned for its wild otters. Porpoise and dolphins are sometimes seen swimming up the Kyle. Seals laze about, while herons glide overhead. You may even spot one of the elusive pine martens.
