Eider has a magnificent situation on the Eastern edge of the quiet, unspoiled village of Embleton, half a mile from the sea. The views from the cottage and its garden are breathtaking towards the Farne Islands in the North and Dunstanburgh Castle in the South.
From your easy chairs in the living room or from the garden you have a wonderful view of the coast overlooking fields sloping down to the golf course and the sea. There are miles of beautiful, almost deserted sandy beaches nearby. It takes just a few minutes to walk down to the beach at Embleton Bay.
Accommodation Eider is a charming single-storey cottage with a pretty, enclosed garden. The cottage comprises an open plan living room/kitchen, fully equipped and comfortably furnished, with French windows into the garden. There are two twin bedded rooms and a bathroom with bath, electric shower, wash handbasin and WC. All the rooms are double glazed. The kitchen and bathroom have been refurbished recently. Services Heating - gas stove (gas included). Electricity (50p coin meter), colour TV and radio, payphone, electric cooker with ceramic hob, fridge, microwave, washer/drier, immersion heater. Bed linen, duvets and tea towels are included and the beds are made up for your arrival. Garden furniture. Private parking. Embleton village has shops for groceries and general provisions, a Post Office, a garage, three pubs and a hotel. Activities Walking: Superb coastal walks from the cottage and hill walking in the Cheviots. Bird watching: There is an abundance of sea birds along the coast. Embleton Bay has a Nature Reserve and Bird Sanctuary with hides. Golf: The cottage overlooks Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Course (the owner kindly allows guests a 10% discount). Sail boarding: There is a training centre at Newton in Embleton Bay. Swimming: In the sea at many beaches nearby which are among the cleanest and best in Britain.
