We have three traditional stone cottages which are set in peaceful locations in the heart of a hill farming estate. All have open log fires and been modernised and equipped to a high standard to create 'home from home'. Ederline is a perfect base to explore Argyll and the Islands.
Ederline Estate offers: - Cycle routes, stunning walks with ancient chapels and castle to explore.
- An abundance of wildlife, ospreys nesting on the loch in the spring, golden eagles in the hills and deer can be regularly seen grazing near the cottages.
- Both coarse and fly fishing with boats. Ederline has a good reputation for fishing: the Hill Lochs have excellent brown trout in over 19 lochs, 6 of which have boats. Loch Ederline is well known for its pike (record 32 lbs - 2003), roach and perch. Loch Awe has trout (UK record 35lbs - Aug 2005), pike, perch, char, sea trout and salmon.
Surrounding area: Ederline is 15mins from the sea and ideally situated for the ferries sailing from Oban, Kennacraig and Tayinloan to the Islands. Is steeped in history. Kilmartin Glen, (which has a museum) is only two miles away, has an extraordinary concentration of ancient monuments, some of which are pre-historic. There are also golf courses, gardens to visit, pony trekking centres, adventure/fishing boat trips and many more activities and attractions in easy distance to the cottages. Which we have listed on our website. Photos below: Finchairn Cottage (left), Clachandubh Cottage (right)
Clachandubh Cottage (sleeps 7) The cottage started life in the 1800's as three shepherds dwellings, it is now our largest cottage. It has an enclosed garden, situated by an old bridge and has ample parking.
Finchairn Cottage (sleeps 6) This is a traditional shepherds cottage situated on a secluded hillside and commands spectacular views across Loch Awe. A large new conservatory has been added to the front of the cottage.
South Lodge (sleeps 2) (photo on right) This charming cosy cottage is ideal for couples. With its own garden, garage, log shed and room for off road parking.
