Relax in a Hilltop Hideaway!
Eastside is a working family farm of 3000 acres located in the heart of the Pentland Hills Regional park. The 18th century farm steading has been imaginatively converted into three cottages which sit side by side amid spectacular scenery and combine old world charm with all modern conveniences. - Observe farming life in action.
- Take to the hills on one of the numerous scenic walks on the farm and beyond.
- Watch the wildlife - badgers and hares abound. Buzzards, Kestrels and Peregrines are regularly spotted.
- See the sites of Edinburgh - we are only six miles along the A702 from the city by-pass.
- Tour the Scottish Borders - the stately homes and castles are a short car journey away.
Eastside Steading
Eastside Steading has accommodation for 4 people and includes a very large room with an open plan kitchen dining room at one end and a cosy sitting area with sofas and a wood burning stove at the other. French windows lead to the garden. There is a shower/utility room with toilet. A spiral staircase with hand-crafted wrought iron banister leads upstairs to a light and spacious landing, one twin bedroom, one double bedroom and a bathroom - all with velux windows to magnificent views.
Eastside Byre
Eastside Byre accommodates 4 people with optional space for an extra two on a double sofa bed in the spacious upstairs sitting room. The cottage has a stone flagged kitchen/dining room with exposed beams and staircase leading to a charming upstairs sitting room with woodburning stove and spectacular views of the hills. Downstairs are two bedrooms, one double, one twin. The double bedroom has ensuite shower room and there is also a separate bathroom with bath, wash handbasin and toilet. In addition there is a utility room (with toilet) off the entrance hall.
Services Both cottages have ample parking in the farmyard at the entrance to each cottage. Mature gardens bounded by dry stone dykes at the back of the properties. The cottages are well equipped with electric cookers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, automatic washing machines and tumble dryers, microwaves, colour TVs, DVD players and videos, Hifis, payphones, cots, high chairs and electric storage heating in the Steading and underfloor heating in the Byre. Logs and electricity are provided free of charge as are bed linen and towels.
