Embleton Village
Embleton lies just a few miles east of the main A1 that links Edinburgh with Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but despite this, it remains off the beaten track and as a result has not been spoilt by over-development. The village has four village pubs (2 serving food) and a post office/shop selling local produce. Meals are also served at Dunstanburgh Golf Club 1/2 mile away.

Out and About

  • The coastline of North Northumberland is well known for its sandy beaches and superb scenery along with its picturesque villages overlooked by magnificent castles. Dunstanburgh Castle is a short walk from the house.
  • Just off this stretch of coastline are the Farne Islands. Well known by SCUBA divers and naturalists alike, these islands are host to a diverse cross section of marine life and coastal species. Boat trips to the Farnes can be arranged from Seahouses, 7 miles north of Embleton.
  • There are interesting market towns in the region. Alnwick with its majestic castle, Alnwick Garden and weekly market is only 7 miles away. Morpeth and Berwick both a scenic 30 mile drive.
  • A visit to the region would not be complete without a visit to Holy Island.
  • Young or old, walker, bird-watcher, golfer or sandcastle builder the area has something for everyone.

Guest Comments

  • East Farm Croft was lovely. It was in a superb position on the top of the hill with easy access to the beach, local walks and amenities. The owner was particularly helpful and welcoming. We appreciated all the little extras such as DVD's to watch, toiletries in the bathroom and a very comfy bed! The Aga made our break even more blissful keeping the house warm and great to cook on. We will certainly come to Northumberland again and if possible, East Farm Croft. Thank you.
  • We were met by the owner on arrival who gave guided tour. Fantastic local beach. Very private courtyard. Although directly off the village it had an 'away from it all' feel- very quiet and peaceful. Would like to return in colder weather to make use of log burner!

Short breaks are available out of season phone for availability. In Season please check for late availability. Booking forms and additional information may be obtained from Judith Bell-Taylor using the contact details above.
