Dunmore Villa is a modern well appointed family home and has a unique position on the very edge of West Loch Tarbert where the Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry to Islay passes the picture window several times during the day.

The Dunmore Estate extends to 1000 acres in a Westerly direction and was the seat of one branch of the MacMillan Clan. The name Dunmore originates from the Gaelic 'Dun Mhor' meaning the large fort and the remains of one large and one smaller bronze age forts are part of its natural history.

A large proportion of the estate has been designated by the Scottish Natural Heritage as a site of specific scientific interest because many sub-tropical plants reach their Northern most locations in this region and the woodlands have been selected as a suitable site for the new European designation known as a Specific Area of Conservation.

The numerous trees and copses are shelter for an abundance of wildlife and 180 recorded species of birds present great interest for walkers through the Estate.

The villa has a pleasant garden extending to two acres with many mature trees and shrubs plus many recently planted hybrid rhododendrons and azaleas from the famous nursery on Loch Awe which give a brilliant display in Spring.
