Dornie Lodges are in the village of Dornie, picturesquely situated at the confluence of Loch Duich, Loch Alsh, and Loch Long and some 10 miles from Kyle of Lochalsh, the main crossing point to the Isle of Skye. - Dornie village centre is only about ten minutes walk along the shore of Loch Long and has a well-stocked village shop, the Dornie Hotel which has a restaurant and public bar with good bar meals, a pub called The Clachan Bar which provides excellent beer and very good meals in the bar.
- A 5-minute walk across the bridge takes you to the Loch Duich hotel with a public bar and more good food.
- Dornie's most famous landmark is the world-renowned Eilean Donan Castle, star of screen, calendar and shortbread box. The castle is only a few minutes walk from the village centre.
Stunning Scenery & Walks The surrounding loch and mountain scenery is absolutely superb, and there is easy access to all grades of walking and climbing for the energetically inclined. Easy lochside and riverside walks start right on the doorstep, and a wealth of more challenging hillwalking is available within a few miles, with the Five Sisters of Kintail and Glenshiel to the South, the Torridon Range in the North, and the Cuillins of Skye to the West... to name but a few.
Many Attractions & Activities Aside from the scenery, the surrounding area offers many other attractions and activities too numerous to fully list here. A visit to Eilan Donan Castle is a must though, as are the Iron Age brochs at Glenelg from where you can also still experience a short ferry trip across to Skye. You can go horse-riding locally, and visit Lochalsh Woodland Garden at Balmacara. There are interesting boat trips from Kyle of Lochalsh and Plockton, each only a few minutes' drive away.
Contemporary Rural Design Lochside, Larchwood and Burnside Lodges are comfortable and spacious new houses. The extensive use of glass in their design and construction gives holidaymakers constantly changing views of our beautiful lochside environment.
