An old stone barn conversion available to individuals, groups or for courses in drawing or stone carving, Beudy Dolpebyll is in a secluded setting on the banks of the river Banwy on the artist owners' property. Sensitively restored with oak beams, pitched ceilings and Victorian-style bathroom. 'Beudy' means cow-house in Welsh and this was the barn for calves or 'Cut Lloi'.
  • The cottage has its own gate and drive and is set across a tree lined field with views of river valley and hills and moors. The garden, with lots of seating areas, leads down to the river Banwy where we have about 500 yds double bank fishing and has a lawn and slate patio and cobbled path and barbecue.
  • There are numerous walks and activities including Glyndwrs Way from the door, horse riding and walking and biking tracks in the adjacent Dyffryn Forest and Snowdonia National Park is 9 miles away. Is about 45 minutes to the beaches of Aberdovey or Ynys Las or the unique Centre for Alternative Technology.
  • Ideal for walkers, bird-watchers, mountain bikers, artists or just chilling out, the cottage is divided from the owners courtyard by a dry-stone wall and hazel wattles with a profusion of roses, honeysuckle and clematis.
 Accommodation
  • There is a light and airy open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with large oak beams and with wood-burning stove and/or oil central-heating, TV, CD/radio, dish-washer, and a new fridge/freezer etc. A large metal arched widow faces east and brings the morning sun into the dining and kitchen area. All the windows have oak sills and were hand-made from reclaimed materials.
  • In the kitchen surfaces are hard wood block and has a contemporary feel while retaining the character of the vernacular architecture. Floors are a light natural wood with a kilim rug. A lobby with airing-cupboard and washing machine and dryer leads to a well-appointed shower room/WC off the kitchen (shaver point to keep our 4 Star status but new tourist board system reduces to 3*).
  • The hand-painted stairs lead to three bedrooms and a Victorian style bathroom with a claw-feet bath and hand-painted floor. The bedrooms have pitched ceilings, beams, hand-painted cupboards and old metal or wooden bedsteads, one new 4'6" double, one twin room with a single and a three-quarter and one small single room and have a cottage atmosphere.
  • Sorry no smoking inside and no pets! We have tried to make the interior as clean and allergy free as possible.
