Sleeps: 2 +1 put-u-up bed in Living Room (4ft wide). Pets welcome in living room and hall. We just request dogs to be kept on lead or to heel in grounds, as sheep graze close by. £10 extra for each dog. Approx. 10 vehicles an hour pass by on road, and a third of a mile away are numerous unrestricted woodland walks, excellent for dogs.
Prices: Nov to March (excl Xmas) £180 per week Oct, Easter, April & May (excl late May) £230 per week June & Sept £280 per week July & Aug, May late Bank Hol, Xmas & New Year £330 per week A 10% reduction for couple sharing bedroom.
Prices include heat and light. Short breaks accepted from September to May at a reduction of 10% a day. Smoking accepted in living room only. There are numerous maps, tourist leaflets and walking books, plus local historical books, including biographies regarding Chatsworth House, which is nearby. Discount of 10% for a second stay, increasing to 20% upon 6th stay. Deposit of one third of price required within 4 days of verbal booking (repayable if cancellation more than 30 days before start of holiday). Balance due within 48 hours of arrival. Prices to be held until at least December 2010.

The Barn adjoins a large 18th century country property with Elizabethan origins, yet has its own private landscaped gardens of a quarter of an acre, with easy access, two private lawns, walled garden and summerhouse.

The property is in the Peak District, 2.5 miles behind Chatsworth House Woods, at 1053 ft altitude. It is 1 mile from the nearest neighbour, on a quiet road amidst forestry, meadows and bleak moorland. Several little-used footpaths lie in the vicinity and there are lovely views across open fields of grazing sheep. 6 miles from Bakewell, 8 miles from Chesterfield, 3.5 miles (by road) from Chatsworth Park, 4 miles from Matlock, 2.5 miles walk to Chatsworth House woods.
Facilities include: LPG central heating. Living room/kitchen, bedroom, sitting room, large hall, WC and shower, linen, 2 TV's, DVD and video recorder, electric radiators in each room, iron, hair dryer, washing machine, radio, putting green. Large car parking area for up to 3 cars. Level access for disabled people.
