Welcome to the Studio, at Dappledown

The 2016/17 Quality inspection has again given us a very complimentary report and confirmation of our 4* rating. "Very good accommodation in a rural setting complemented by very good standards of housekeeping and customer care."

The Studio was built and furnished to very high standards which reflect the quality of the Architect owner's Swedish House providing everything you need for a relaxing and very comfortable holiday.

The welcome pack includes Beth's home made scones, Cider from the local cider makers and a pot of homemade jam. We also provide bed linen, towels, (including jumbo ones)tea towels, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, cling film, shampoo and shower gel, hand soap and washing up liquid. In fact all you need to bring is your food and clothes. Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda all deliver to the village, so please feel free to place an order for delivery before your arrival. There is now a good Farm Shop in the village, selling award winning sausages from their own pigs, as well as bacon, hen and duck eggs, local cheese, fruit juice etc. Fownhope, 3 miles away has a mini market and post office.

We care deeply for the environment and our guests. We recycle and compost everything possible, have double and triple glazing and a whole house ventilation system.
The Studio provides highly insulated, part triple glazed accommodation, beautifully designed so that everything "works".  The floor is constructed from the reclaimed ceiling timbers from the old Parish Hall that was on the site when we bought it. Even the birds have been thought of.  You will see (hopefully) Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, tits, siskins and all sorts of birds on the bird bag literally inches from your window.

This is England as it used to be with miles of country lanes and we provide locally drawn up leaflets of 6-7 walks, with maps some even from the door, of up to 6 miles - unless of course you get lost!

There is so much to see and do in this area, National Trust properties, gardens, the local towns of Ledbury, Ross on Wye and Hereford, Cider making, English Wines, Museums, the list goes on.

So stop at the village pubs for a local pint and a good meal by a roaring fire, before returning to your triple glazed, centrally heated studio apartment for a lovely night's rest. The Butchers Arms is a lovely half mile walk on a starry night, they serve a menu that can include Rabbit Pie, Pheasant and Hare. The Crown is just round the corner (staggering distance) and serves really good pub food and steaks, local cider and lots of real ales. They also do takeaways.

It is a real pleasure to provide the base for a wonderful holiday in the heart of the unspoiled British countryside, close enough to enjoy the many Festivals and attractions in the Three Counties, but buried in the green woods and valleys where you can just relax and unwind, in the knowledge that there is an excellent eating pub within walking distance.

If you are planning a walking, canoeing or cycling holiday, we have secure storage in our garage for your equipment and bikes as well as drying facilities for your outdoor clothing and boots.  There is no extra charge for this. You also have access to washing maching and tumble dryer in the owner's utility room.

We have found lovely comments in the Visitor's Book and here are just a few :-

Like so many before us we have had a wonderfully relaxing time in this lovely apartment.  It is so thoughfully equipped and very comfortable, one of the very best we have ever stayed in.  Thank for the goodies and the tour of the garden.  A week is never enough in Herefordshire.  Marion and Derek, Reading.

We've had a relaxing, enjoyable week and even though coming to Hereford for many years, have visited lots of places we've not been to before.  We liked Brockhampton Estate, Brockhampton Church, walking the Marcle Ridge and Mordiford Loop, Eating out at the Butchers Arms and Green Man.  Visiting the Weir Garden, Croft Castle and Berington Hall.
We enjoyed watching the blue tits and woodpecker on the nut bag, seeing bats, hearing the owl and looking at the stars.  The Studio was everything we hoped it would be.  We will recommend it to friends and hope to come again soon.  Thanks for the Scones and welcome goodies. Christine and kevin, Huddersfield.

Well what a find! The Studio is a fantastic hideaway in a glorious location.  We are so impressed with the thought that has gone into making this such a lovely place to stay and feel we have found a bolt hole to return to over and over again, only a hop skip and jump from home.  But what a difference that hop skip and jump makes!! Jo and Chris, Wolverhampton.

We have been here before, in this month  - twice.  It is this Studio, in this County, that has taught us to embrace an English November with gusto.  So thank you again, Beth and Martin, as all other devotes and passing travellers to this haven - our batteries and hearts, are once again re-charged. - Kim and Nigel, Kenilworth.
"Accommodation excellent, greeting warm and hospitable, if this were mine I wouldn't let people like me stay in it!"

Please discuss your requirements with either Beth or Martin, on 01432 860015 and we will do our very best to accommodate you.
