Welcome to the Studio, at Dappledown
"Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay. We will definitely be back!"
"The Studio is the perfect location for a peaceful and relaxing break."
The 2016/17 Quality inspection has again given us a very complimentary report and confirmation of our 4* rating. "Very good accommodation in a rural setting complemented by very good standards of housekeeping and customer care."
The Studio was built and furnished to very high standards which reflect the quality of the owners' Swedish House, and provides everything you need for a relaxing, comfortable holiday.
We supply bed linen, towels, tea towels, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, cling film, shampoo, shower gel, hand soap and washing up liquid. In fact all you need to bring is your food and clothes. Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda all deliver to the village. Fownhope, 3 miles away, has a butcher, mini market and post office. There is also a Farm Shop in the village, selling award-winning sausages from their own pigs, as well as bacon, hen and duck eggs, and local produce.
We care deeply for the environment and our guests. We recycle and compost everything possible, have double and triple glazing and a whole house ventilation system.
The Studio provides highly insulated, part triple glazed accommodation, beautifully designed so that everything functions well. The floor is constructed from the reclaimed ceiling timbers from the old Parish Hall that was originally on the site of the current house. Even the birds have been thought of. You might see woodpeckers, nuthatches, tits, siskin, etc on the bird bag outside your window.
Woolhope is a superb centre for walking and cycling, with miles of country lanes, bridleways and footpaths. We provide locally drawn up leaflets with maps.
There is so much to see and do in this area, including National Trust properties, gardens, the local towns of Ledbury, Ross on Wye and Hereford, cider making, English wines, museums, and much more.
You may call in at the village pubs for a local pint and a good meal by a roaring fire, before returning to your studio apartment for a peaceful night's rest. The Butchers Arms, with its characterful beams and delicious local produce, is only a half mile walk away. The Crown is just around the corner and serves really good pub food and steaks, local cider and real ales. They also provide takeaways.
It is a real pleasure to provide the base for a wonderful relaxing holiday in the heart of the unspoiled British countryside, and its enviable location enables you to enjoy the many Festivals and attractions offered in the Three Counties.
