Situated in the beautifully maintained grounds of an historic 17th century castle and a short distance from Inverness and its airport, the Coach House has been recently converted to the highest standard. The castle itself has important Fraser and Mackintosh clan connections as well as having been the mustering point for Cumberlands forces before the battle of Culloden. The grounds and estate woodlands are home to numerous species of wildlife including red squirrels, pine martens, badgers and roe deer.

 The large double bedded room (photo) enjoys wonderful views over rich farmland to the Moray Firth and the Black Isle and beyond. This is a wonderfully comfortable base from which to explore the Highlands, Loch Ness, local castles (Cawdor, Stuart, Urquhart), local distilleries and the West Coast. Many original features have been retained, including the large stone arches which provide floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen and also the old hatchway to the loft.
The Coach House is adjacent to a quiet country lane and is within 5 minutes drive of the historic Culloden battlefield and visitor centre and 15 minutes drive of Inverness - the capital of the Highlands. Inverness is nowadays a bustling city with superb rail and air links, shopping and leisure facilities of ice rinks, cinemas, theatres and flume swimming pools.
There are renowned long sandy beaches a few miles away at Nairn and also many golf courses close by including a championship course at Nairn, and Dornoch. Other local attractions include; Loch and river fishing, dolphin rides, sailing ,and hill and woodland walks.
