This is classic, undiscovered Wales. It's never crowded here, even in summer. Surrounded by unspoilt countryside and blessed with spectacular views, Cwmcroiddur is a very special place. With Barcud Cottage and Croiddur Barn providing comfortable accommodation, Cwmcroiddur offers visitors the perfect place to take a break from the stresses of the 21st century. Civilisation isn't far away though - the picturesque village of Cilycwm with its excellent pub is just a mile from here and Llandovery, the local centre, is only a ten-minute drive.

The Area
The upper Tywi valley is a brilliant place for walking, bird watching, horse-riding, mountain biking or just relaxing. Cwmcroiddur's central location makes the whole of west Wales accessible. The coast, to north, west and south are in easy reach. Local attractions include spectacular waterfalls, dozens of castles, stately homes and gardens. There are also RSPB, CCW and other reserves, a Red Kite feeding station and the famous Dolaucothi Gold Mines.

Staying at Cwmcroiddur
We decided not to go down the route of tourist board inspections, star-ratings etc. We reckon that they encourage owners to make their holiday properties bland and unexciting. We wanted Cwmcroiddur to be an exceptional place to stay. So, although we don't have stars or suchlike, we can assure you that the accommodation is of high quality. We hope that, having stayed here, you will agree that Cwmcroiddur definitely isn't bland!

Croiddur Barn
Croiddur Barn is spacious and imposing, yet a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. Most of the interior is to the full height of the barn, and its lounge area is at a lower level than the rest of the building, which makes it feel very special. The barn has all the facilities you would expect to find in a good holiday property and a few more besides.

Barcud Cottage
Barcud Cottage is the oldest building at Cwmcroiddur. Its thick stone-built walls keep it cool in summer, while wood-fired central heating keeps the cottage cosy in the cooler parts of the year. Barcud Cottage is popular with people who want to relax and to have a place to think - especially in the off-peak months (we offer great low-season deals).
