Orlege End Orlege is a highly characterful and contemporary home. The sitting / dining area, seating 6, is stunning with its double height living space flooded with light not just from the original windows in the end gable, but also from rooflights and glazed sliding doors that open onto a small flagstoned courtyard. A mezzanine-level gallery is punched into this expansive living space to create a second, more intimate, sitting area. And peep behind the upstairs door which opens into the main bedroom with its kingsize bed, and there you'll find a space just as distinctive with its angled, star-shaped combed ceilings and split levels, with views through the tree-tops.
Judged worthy of a two-page spread in an Interiors Magazine, what so impressed the journalist were the personal touches which set this place apart. The metal sculptures, the original artworks, the retention of original fittings blending so well with the modern fittings, the quality of the detailing and the craftsmanship. And a kitchen to die for. And her verdict? "The Hamiltons have certainly earned those five stars". A verdict endorsed by the "Property Ladder" magazine which also gave Orlege a lovely 7 page spread in their July 2006 issue.
If you like a choice, you may want to look at the other 3 properties on our farm. Stylistically not so outstanding, these 3 and 4 STAR (properties sleeping up to 6) have nonetheless in the past earned Crosswoodhill the Scottish Tourism Oscar of 'SCOTTISH SELF-CATERING OPERATOR OF THE YEAR.'
