Croft House Holiday Cottages at Applethwaite, an unspoilt, rural village nestling at the foot of Skiddaw just over 1 mile from Keswick in the English Lake District, offer five quality self catering properties accommodating from 2 to 8 people. All five are Four Stars, have peaceful settings and spectacular views.

UPPER HOUSE (together with Lower House) is part of a larger property called Lords Seat. Upper House has accommodation on two floors and is over Lower House, which has accommodation on one floor. Both properties share the garden but each has a private sitting out area. Both properties have an overwhelmingly beautiful view south to Derwentwater and the Borrowdale and north-western fells.

UPPER HOUSE is furnished in contemporary style and accommodates 6 people and a baby in a cot.

GROUND FLOOR:
  • Entrance into porch with shower room.
  • Spacious lounge/dining room: exposed roof beams and trusses, coal-burning stove, colour television, video player, DVD player and music centre.
  • Kitchen: dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine/ tumble drier.
  • Bathroom: bath (shower over), hand basin and toilet.
  • Cloakroom: hand basin and toilet.
  • Double bedroom.
FIRST FLOOR:
  • Gallery over lounge/dining room leading to two twin bedrooms.
OTHER FACILITIES:
  • Car parking (2 cars).
  • Shared garden - reached by steps from the car park.
  • Private decking: garden furniture and BBQ.
  • Footpaths 'from the door'.
  • Pub serving good food just 20 minutes walk away.
  • Photo on right shows the view.
Red squirrels can still be seen in the Applethwaite area and the shores of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, where ospreys have nested in recent years, are only five minutes away. Keswick has easy access to other areas of the Lake District with many other lakes within a 30 minute drive.

Our "Owner's noticeboard" button gives details of late availability. Our website has full details of the accommodation, the views and more photos. It also has an up to date availability calendar and weekly/short break rental rates.
