In June 2007 work began on the new monastery for Benedictine nuns on the hill above the lodges. This work continues, with the nuns hoping to move in in March 2009.
Despite the construction work, the lodges remain open. Traffic for the building site uses a newly built road, thereby minimizing disturbance to guests.

 Crief Lodges are set in 65 acres of our own land within the North York Moors National Park with spectacular views across the Vale of York and the North York Moors.

The nine Scandinavian pine lodges, designed for privacy, have been sympathetically blended into the natural beauty of the environment. They nestle alongside hundreds of acres of Forestry Commission land which provides the backdrop to many delightful and countless walks to suit all ages and abilities.
For those who wish to eat out there is an 18th century inn at the bottom of Wass Bank, which provides traditional and speciality meals.
 
Crief Lodges provide an ideal base from which to explore the area.
MERLIN LODGES - sleeps 4/5
Ampleforth Lodge, Mount Grace Lodge, Whitby Lodge - Half-heck stable door to hall.
- Open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen area.

- 2 bedrooms (one double and one with three bunk beds with ladder).

KITE LODGES - sleeps 4/5
Byland Lodge, Fountains Lodge, Jervaulx Lodge, Rievaulx Lodge, Rosedale Lodge, York Lodge - L-shaped open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen area.
- Patio doors to large veranda.
- Hall to 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 double + 1 single).
- Bathroom with bath, wash hand basin, WC and shaving point.
