Cowclose Barn Our 2 beautifully furnished cottages have original features, such as oak beams and stone buttresses, which give the cottages character. The comforts of modern living have been added. We are working towards achieving the Peak District Environmental Quality Award.
Location: Situated just outskirts of the peaceful village of Cutthorpe (B6050), 5 miles west of Chesterfield and to the east of The Peak District National Park. There is an excellent pub/restaurant across the road, and many more within a short drive. The cottages overlook the beautiful Linacre Valley.
The Robins (Sleeps 2, plus sofabed, junior bed or cot). Spacious cottage, ideal for couples. Downstairs there is a lounge/diner, well equipped fitted kitchen and large bathroom (bath and shower). Upstairs there is one large double bedroom. (2 photos below).
  The Swallows (sleeps 5 plus cot). This spacious cottage is ideal for families and friends. Downstairs there is a lounge, separate dining room, well equipped fitted kitchen and single bedroom. Upstairs there is a double ensuite bedroom and a twin ensuite bedroom. (2 photos below).
  SPECIAL FEATURES - Footpaths from the door lead to The Linacre Valley with its woods and reservoirs.

What's Near? The cottages are on the eastern edge of The Peak District National Park, which offers excellent walking, climbing, cycling and sightseeing. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Hardwick Hall (NT), Bolsover Castle are nearby, attracting visitors from all over the world. The market town of Chesterfield with its famous 'Crooked Spire' can be seen in the distance. The university town of Sheffield has theatres, a wide range of music venues, museums and excellent shopping (Meadowhall is nearby). Charming villages and small towns such as Bakewell (the home of Bakewell Pudding), Castleton, Matlock, Buxton, Eyam (known as the Plague Village) are within a short drive.
