The Cotthouse has just been upgraded with a new conservotory and a few new additions.
This corner of south west Scotland is undiscovered treasure. Its breath-taken coastline is uncrowded, even in high summer.
The Cotthouse has beautiful uninterrupted views. Port Logan and Luce Bay can be seen across the open fields of lovely rolling Scottish farmland. Designed all on one level, the cottage has an enclosed patio for relaxing,taking in the scenery and alfresco dining,for cooler days a spacious conservatory provides a perfect alternative. Complete with a wood burning stove the cottage provides a warm and cosy retreat for any time of the year.
This area is ideal for walking, cycling or simply strolling along the broad sandy beaches.
Nearby at Portpatrick there are two golf courses, Dunskey 18 holes and Dinvin 9 holes, also a new driving range just opened spring 2006 at Castle Kennedy.
All so on the farm we have a old quarry which you can come and look for fossils(which here includes shaly interbeds. From these you can collect well-preserved graptolites of the crispus biozone, including monograptus crispus.
Trout fishing is available free on large ponds located on the farm, can also supply fishing rods. Sea fishing also nearby.
Port Logan's Exotic Botanic Garden is a must to visit, also another five beautiful gardens a short drive away.
