Corner Cottage is a delightfully quaint single-storey holiday cottage with an open log fire in the quiet, friendly market-town of Saxmundham - just 4 miles from Benjamin Britten's concert hall at Snape Maltings and 8 miles from Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast.

Corner Cottage is a very unusual period building, made of traditional Suffolk flint and dating back to around 1800. It has many period features remaining, but combined with the modern comforts and conveniences you would expect for your holiday. It is a 'town cottage' on the corner of Chapel Road and Rendham Road, but these are not busy roads - it is not the main route into the town, and Saxmundham is a small, quiet market-town.

Inside, the cottage is light and airey, with pleasant views from each window. The fireplace in the centre of the open-plan living room and kitchen/dining area is a real feature - and perfect for open log-fires on winters evenings!
The kitchen is fully equipped (plenty of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, and useful utensils) and the dining table seats four (plus space for a highchair). The cosy living room has comfortable seating, Satallite TV, CD/DVD/Video, a small library of books, card and board games, plus music CDs.
The shower-room has a spacious (fully tiled) shower cubicle, basin, toilet, shaver-point and electric towel-warmer (for cosy, warmed towels in winter!).
The bedrooms have comfortable beds (each with four pillows and crisp, cotton bedlinen), plenty of hanging and drawer-space, plus useful items such as alarm-clocks and hairdryers.

Location

The holiday cottage is just 500 yards from the town, where you'll find a wide range of interesting shops and galleries to browse around, plus a Waitrose supermarket, several pubs, cafes, and an award-winning restaurant.
There are also very good country pubs in the outlying villages, serving real ales and home-cooked food.
Ideal base for exploring the unspoilt Suffolk countryside and the county's popular towns, villages and attractions during a summer holiday or a winter break.
Just 30 mins drive to the sandy beach at Southwold, the popular coastal town of Aldeburgh, the riverside town of Woodbridge, the castles at Framlingham and Orford... there is so much to see and do in the area, you'll want to come back time and time again.
The gently undulating terrain makes it a perfect location for walking, cycling or bird watching - RSPB Minsmere 6 miles.
Several excellent pay and play golf courses locally (nearest in Aldeburgh - 8 miles/15 mins drive).
There are bus/train services to most popular towns - so a car isn't essential.
There is a direct rail service from London-Liverpool Street to Saxmundham (journey-time approx 90 mins) - making the Cottage perfect for Short-Breaks too. The station is only 250 yards from Corner Cottage, but don't worry - there's no train noise inside the cottage!
