The village of Hazelbury Bryan features in Thomas Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles where it is known as Nuttlebury and provides a base for exploring the unspoilt countryside that has changed little since Hardy described it.
There are many natural and historic attractions to be found within an hour's drive including the spectacular Jurassic coastline, Olympic sailing venue of Weymouth, historic towns of Sherborne and Shaftesbury and delightful Poole Bay.
