Approached via a long sweeping driveway, The Coach House has views over undulating fields grazed by cattle and sheep in the heart of the Peak National Park. The cottage which is located in the 10 acre grounds of Rowdale, a Grade II listed 17C longhouse, once part of the Eyre Estate of Hassop, has private access to the Monsal Trail and footpaths to local villages, Bakewell, Monsal Head and beyond.
Two miles away is the historic market town of Bakewell and a gentle stroll through fields leads to the pretty village of Ashford in the Water. Both have excellent stores (open 7 days), pubs/restaurants and the Chatsworth estate is 1.5 miles away with a superb farm shop/delicatessen and restaurant.
Accommodation The spacious conversion has a southerly aspect with scenic views from all rooms, there is central heating and double glazing throughout. The stone paved terrace provides level access through the original arched coach entrance to a well-equipped kitchen diner with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and freezer. Open access leads to the comfortably furnished lounge that features a pretty gritstone fireplace. The large original arched doorway opens onto the terrace with open aspect across the Crackendale valley. On the first floor the generous double and king bedrooms have vaulted ceilings with exposed trusses and en-suite facilities. Both rooms have dual aspect to the front/rear overlooking fields and one has a door leading to the rear. Each ensuite room has a thermostatic shower, basin with shaver point and light and toilet. Bed linen and heating are included. An extra single bed/cot can be provided. Dogs welcome by prior arrangement. Sorry no smoking.
