 With its open fires, secluded garden and bright, airy conservatory, The Coach House is the perfect holiday getaway from which to explore the beautiful south west of Scotland. Set in the picturesque and historic grounds of Carzield Farm, The Coach House is a recently refurbished, spacious two bedroom cottage. From its impressive solid oak front door to its beamed ceilings, the property combines country charm with modern practicalities. The beautiful oak entrance brings you into a hall leading to the lounge and the welcoming warmth of an open fire. From there onto the dining room with its fully stocked bookcase and leading into the fully fitted kitchen. On sunny days the conservatory is a joy to relax in, leading to a paved patio area, perfect for barbecues, and a secluded garden. There's even a fully stocked games cupboard in case of rainy days, filled with games, jigsaws and toys for the young and the young at heart! On the first floor you'll find a large modern bathroom, with a new white suite and over-bath shower. The two bedrooms are of good size with outstanding views, and both rooms have two single beds that can be linked together to make a large double (superking size). All linen included. Electricity and coal provided. Ample parking. The estate in which The Coach House sits is a site of special historical interest. Archaeological excavations have shown it was once an important Roman Fort, and the small mounds in the surrounding fields show the evidence of ancient Roman walls. You can even find out about the site and some of the artefacts uncovered at the museum in Dumfries.
The area around the Coach House is packed with things to see and do. Only four miles from Dumfries, you can enjoy a real secluded break with all the amenities of a large town close at hand.
