Clayton Cottage is situated in a quiet rural location, on the edge of the Cheviot Hills, near Wooler and Milfield in Northumberland. Visitors to this cottage often comment on the beautiful views right from the front door.
Offering a warm welcome to all its guests, this traditional Edwardian cottage is fully modernised throughout, ensuring you will be comfortable and well equipped for your self catering holiday. There are walks directly from the cottage and the area is also ideal for cycling, fishing on the River Till, or sight seeing with so many castles to explore nearby.
You are only a short drive from many of Northumberland's beauty spots such as Bamburgh, with its imposing castle and golden beach, or Lindisfarne Castle on the romantic Holy Island.
Accommodation Families with children very welcome. Just let us know if you need a cot or high chair. Sleeps up to 5 comfortably, with three upstairs bedrooms, one double, one twin and one small single. Lounge with comfortable quality furniture, a real fire with all logs and coal included, digital Sky TV, DVD, CD player and telephone with honesty box. Fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, grill, microwave, toaster, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer, etc. Separate dining room with table and seating for 5 comfortably, plus easy chairs. Modern bathroom on ground floor with WC, bath and shower over. Electric heating throughout - all included. We have ensured that there are maps, brochures and leaflets of the area at the cottage for you. One well behaved dog welcome. No smoking. Outside - The rear garden is a good size, mostly lawn and flower beds with fruit trees. It's safe and privately enclosed, and easy parking is available right outside the front or rear - off road.
- There's a BBQ and patio set for your use in the back garden and a lockable shed in case you need to store bikes etc.
Clayton Cottage is in Howtel, on a very quiet minor road, near Wooler and also near to: Milfield, Branxton, Flodden Field, Kelso, Etal, Ford, Cornhill on Tweed, Jedburgh, Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland Heritage Coast, Holy Island, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell, Chillingham, Northumberland National Park and the Cheviot Hills - which give you the fabulous views from the remote and quiet cottage.
Edinburgh is only an hour to the North and makes for a day trip by car or train from Berwick upon Tweed. Newcastle is only an hour to the South.
