Nestling in the heart of an ancient monastic estate in beautiful Glenisla in the Cairngorm National Park with its garden running down to the river Isla. Full of history and legend, Glenisla has something to offer in every season of the year and this luxury holiday cottage is a gorgeous place to stay.
Accommodation: This picturesque cottage has a large, pretty sitting room with a stove and comfortable furniture. The modern, sunny kitchen has everything you might need (it is a 5 star cottage!) and has a dining area with a door into the garden. Three Bedrooms - 1 double, 2 twins. The double bedroom (with an extra TV/DVD) is on the ground floor and there is a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs are the two pretty twin bedrooms - one has an ensuite shower-room with a power shower and there is another bathroom / shower room as well. The half-acre garden is fully enclosed so very safe for children and dogs. There is a seating area with table and chairs, and a barbecue. Babysitting can be arranged which is a great bonus if you want to go out for the evening. There are many extras available on the estate - including a cook, mountain bikes, hire of a piper for special occasions and a beauty therapist! Dishwasher, Microwave, Fridge and freezer, Washing machine/dryer, Cot and high chair available, Electric blankets. Electric central heating. TVs/video/CD player/stereo. Books, games and videos. 4 golf courses within 14 miles. With its central location, Claypotts is a perfect base for exploring Scotland. Whether you prefer a relaxed holiday, or an active one, the options at Claypotts are many and varied. Why not go sailing (2 miles), ponytrekking (6miles), skiing or golfing or have tennis lessons from a Wimbledon junior finalist, followed by a massage and dinner made by the estate's cook! Alternatively just take a gentle stroll through the estate and relax in the beautiful surroundings.
In spring wander through the daffodils in the garden to the sounds of snow melt in the river and continuous bird-song. Lambing begins in March and the migrating birds return. The cottage is also convenient for Glenshee and skiing in the winter. Hire bikes from the estate and cycle round the glen or take a fishing rod to one of the lochs. Glenisla is almost entirely organic: there is such a profusion of wild flowers that part of the glen is a wildflower reserve. Walk the 500 yards from your door to the Fairy Glen, then along the woodland paths past the ruins of a Pictish village to the wild heathery mountain tops beyond, from which there are 360 degree views for 40 miles.
